According to the latest Office for National Statistics release, UK (ex.NI) private rental prices have remained unchanged since May, with demand slowing down.

In the 12 months to June 2018, private rental prices rose by 1.0% but have remained unchanged since April

Breaking down the overall 12-month price increase figures:

  • England – 1.0%
  • Wales – 1.1%
  • Scotland – 0.6%

London private rental prices decreased by 0.2% in the 12 months to June 2018 and remain unchanged from May 2018.

Regionally, the largest annual rental price increase was in the East Midlands at 2.8%.

This was followed by the South West at 2.1%.

East of England rose by 1.9%.

London experienced a negative decrease of 0.2%.

This was followed by the North East with a small rise of 0.2%.
