We're not online security experts at The Property Jungle but we do know a thing or two about staying safe online so as the National Crime Agency has now issued a Global Online Threat Warning, we thought now would be a good time to share some simple good houskeeping advice on keeping yourselves, your business and finances safe online.

For many of you, it will be a case of "teaching grandma to suck eggs" but a gentle reminder to review and check your security never hurt anyone and could save you thousands of pounds and days of downtime in the long run.

  • Keep your browser up-to-date. Follow one of the links below.

  • Beware of suspicious email attachments. If you are not 100% confident in the source DO NOT OPEN!

  • Keep your security software up-to-date and ON!

  • Back up your data.

  • Do not store passwords on your computer.

As well as following these simple steps and due to the severity of the current online threat, we also strongly recommend that you download and run the free tools specifically designed to scan for and remove the Gameover Zues/GOZeus/PZPeus virus and the CryptoLocker ransomeware. These tools are completely free and can be used alongside your current security software. They are job specific and are only looking for the current online threats.

Always remember, a few minutes completing a few simple safety tasks could save you plenty of time, money and stress in the future.

Stay Safe Everyone!
