Configuring Microsoft Entourage

Microsoft Entourage is an email client developed by Microsoft for the Mac OS X operating System.

Part of the Office 2008 software package, Microsoft Entourage brings all the functionality of Microsoft's Outlook email clients built for the Windows operating system.

Finding and Setting Your Preferences

Open Microsoft Entourage on your Mac and then in the menu bar click on "Entourage", then click on "Account Settings".

Adding an Account

Clicking on the "Account Settings" will open a small dialogue box and you will need to click on the icon labelled "New".

Adding an account to Microsoft Entourage is very simple, for the most part we can use the "Setup Assistant" facility and just enter the missing details when required.

Click on the "Setup Assistant" button.

Enter the email address you wish to add and then click on the right arrow in the bottom right to move to the next step.

Setup failed... not to worry, looks like we will have to add our details manually. Click the right arrow in the bottom right to move to the next step.

• Your Name: Enter your full name here, this will be seen by your recipients when they receive email from you.
• E-Mail address: Enter the email address that The Property Jungle supplied you.
• Account ID: Account ID is for your reference so you can easily differentiate between email accounts if you have more than one set-up already. We advise that you name the new account after your business for easy reference.
• Password: Your password(s) will also be provided for you by The Property Jungle and you will need to enter it within this field.
• Save password in Mac OS X Keychain Leaving this checked will save your password for you, unchecking it will mean that you will have to enter your password each time you open Microsoft Entourage.
• Incoming mail server: This field is where you specifically add your incoming mail server with the details provided by The Property jungle.
• Incoming mail server type: Leave this selected as "POP".
• Outgoing mail server: This field is where you specifically add your outgoing mail server with the details provided by The Property jungle.

Once you have entered your details, click on the right arrow in the bottom right to move to the next step.

Verifying Account Settings

The next step in Microsoft Entourages account setup is verifying them, just click on the "Verify My Settings" and Entourage will check to see if the account details are correct.

Once Microsoft Entourage has run it's verifying procedure, click on the right arrow in the bottom right to proceed.

Setup Complete

To complete your account setup you will asked to give it a name, the name is for your reference so you can easily differentiate between email accounts if you have more than one set-up already. We advise that you name the new account after your business for easy reference.

Click "Finish" and your account should now be setup and ready to use.
