Configuring Android Devices

Android is an operating system for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. It is developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google.

There are currently more than 250,000 apps available for Android. Apps can be downloaded from third-party sites or through online stores such as Android Market, the app store run by Google.

Android was listed as the best-selling smartphone platform worldwide in Q4 2010.

Finding and Setting Your Preferences

Tap on the email application, this can be found in your apps list or on one of your homes screens.

Enter your email address and password using the details provided by The Property Jungle, tap "Next".

Select "POP3" from the options listed and the application will move to the next step of the email account set-up.

Within the "Incoming server settings" you will need to enter the details provided to you by The Property Jungle. Enter your "Username" as it was supplied, as well as your "Password" and "POP3 server". Set the "Delete email from server" to "Never". Tap "Next".

Within the "Outgoing server settings" you will need to enter the "SMTP server" name which will be provided for you, and enter your "Username" and "Password" again. Tap "Next".

You can set your "Inbox checking frequency"* and if you would to make this new email account your default one. Tap "Next" once you have made your choices.

To complete your new email account set-up you will be asked to give the account a name for easy recognition and your name as you wish it to appear when sending messages.

Your email account should be ready to send and receive from your Android phone.

*Be aware that if you set your email to check regularly it will use your data connection when your phone is not connected to a WiFi network. Please check your mobile providers tariffs for pricing.
